November 19, 2008

I first met Ashley right after she got accepted into nursing school and her life has progressively gotten busier and busier!! This December she is graduating – go class of 2008!! ;-)

Jesse + Kelli engaged!

October 31, 2008

I have known Kelli ever since I got involved at the Newman Center on campus and for a semester or two I sat next to her in Women’s Choir! I was so excited when Kelli told me that Jesse proposed because every time I see them together they are in such good spirits – even if they are on their way to study! And now I’ll get to see them and be with them throughout their big day! Can’t wait for next summer!

I think this was about the only tree that didn’t have all the leaves torn off of it by the ‘hurricane’ the day before!

Steve + Wendy engaged!

September 25, 2008

Tuesday evening I met Steve and Wendy to do their engagement session for their wedding next June! We trekked all the way across McCrory Gardens and over a very dangerous bridge (okay so maybe I was the only one who thought it was dangerous, but I was wearing tall shoes and carrying very expensive equipment) to get to the spot where Steve proposed…

we think…

the marking post was missing. :-)

Next, I tried a little backlight with the almost setting sun:

They were constantly making each other laugh, which makes for great smiles! :-)

Some more backlight, with a little sun flare… I didn’t mean to put it right on Steve’s eye, it just happened, but I know they really love being outside so I thought it was fitting.

And one more. I couldn’t resist!

Travis + Tracy = MARRIED!

August 20, 2008

I was out bowling tonight with Travis, Tracy and our friend Jeremy and I could definitely tell that Travis and Tracy were still in honeymoon mode – neither of them could stop smiling!!

Their wedding day was great – so laid back and carefree! The flowers were pink instead of purple, but that didn’t matter because the main point of that day was that Travis and Tracy were joined in marriage. The readings for the mass were specially picked by Travis and Tracy – one of them was the passage that Travis read to Tracy right before he proposed (how sweet is that!!). Fr. Paul gave an awesome homily as usual, and the dance was extra “hoppin'” ;-)

I have a lot of favorites from this day, so let’s start at the beginning – Tracy getting into her dress:

Travis getting help from his soon-to-be sister:

Tracy had found these super cute fans and parasols to do some fun photos:

p.s. the flower girl mentioned to me at the reception that I was exhausting her with taking so many photos – I just didn’t realize she was exhausted this early in the day! :-)

I found Foley just fine, but finding a place to park was another story… there was construction everywhere! This ring photo was too fitting. :-)

Deja Vu – same church, same priest, same dad, different bride – Tracy’s sister was married here last summer

This next photo just screams “Hey! We’re married!” – you just don’t see Travis smile that big for the camera every day…

The getaway car:

I love the silhouette of Travis’ cowboy hat!

This series is great – Travis and Tracy making a cute photo, and then the catering guy making it even funnier!

When you can’t beat DJ lights, you just have to work with them:

And yes, the groom is wearing a cowboy hat, a cut-off dress shirt, and chaps at his reception!

Father-Daughter dances are so sweet:

And then the jitterbugging began…

And before I forget… a couple photos of just the couple:

And I know that these two are hardly ever serious, I just thought this was a fun, unique shot to finish up this post – hope you enjoy!

Dan + Annie

July 30, 2008

I had the pleasure of taking engagement photos for my friends Dan and Annie – what a sweet couple!! And they were so comfortable in front of the camera, I hardly had to pose them!

They are so playful! Most of the time was spent goofing around at the playground. :-)

Thanks again Dan & Annie for letting me do your engagement photos! I had a great time working and hanging out with you!

Last weekend after doing a wedding with my boss, I came back to Brookings to do some reception and dance photos for my friend Tim and his new wife Loni. My favorites:

Steve + Wendy

April 30, 2008

A couple weeks ago, my friend Steve proposed to my friend Wendy! Hooray! I ran into them last Friday during the snowstorm and we took a few spur-of-the-moment engagement photos. Here are a couple of my favorites!
